After police officers were targeted in the shootings in Dallas, people have been worried about the wellbeing of these officers. Because in addition to being cops, these people are also husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers.
The way people connect with them is by their official Facebook page ‘IMPD News,’ where they uploads photos, statuses, and video regarding the department.
Now, people all over Facebook are reacting to a powerful photo the department posted online.
The photo was taken by two little kid’s mother and shows the two of them dressed in police gear. They are seen kneeling in front of a squad car and praying. But why are they praying?
The caption of the photo reads, ‘Praying their father and all police officers return home safely.’ It turns out that the car they are in front of, is their father’s.
Since the photo was uploaded online it has been shared over 7,000 times with people commenting their support of the children and the law enforcement.
IMPD spokesperson Patrolman, Jim Gillespie, says the image is ‘a message of hope and a reminder of the attitude that the majority of citizens have for us, which is a supportive one.’
