People that really are getting into the force to make a difference in their communities, and don’t just see it as a paycheck or a crappy job. Sheriff Grady Judd from Polk County made a very good point during a press conference the morning after four men were taken into custody for the murders of two young women. One of the reporters there didn’t like something he said, stating it was “politically incorrect”, to which he responded, “There’s nothing about ‘politically correct’ in a gunfight… If you start pointing guns at us you can not only plan on, but you can guarantee, we’re gonna shoot you.”
Regardless of which side of the fence you’re on, cops HAVE to protect themselves in the line of duty as they, too, get the right to life, so it should be expected they do so. Some people are silly expecting otherwise.
