What You’ll Need:
- Potatoes, cleaned
- Wooden skewers
- Baking sheet
- Seasoning to taste
What to Do:
Take a potato and thread it on to a wooden skewer lengthwise, pushing the skewer as straight through as possible. Place the skewered potato onto a cutting board and grab a sharp knife. At an angle, slice a cut into the top of the potato, never reaching all the way around in one circle. Follow this motion into one continuous motion down the entire potato length. Pro tip: hold the knife still at the desired angle, and rotate the potato itself, rather than moving the knife to meet the correct position.
Now that the entire potato has been cut, fan out the new layers across the length of the skewer. Place the desired amount of these spiraled masterpieces onto a cookie sheet, and drizzle on some olive oil and salt, or get creative and add your own spice combinations.
Depending on the size of the potatoes used, bake in the oven for about 25 minutes at 320 degrees, or until golden brown. These fanned out spirals can be served beside a garden salad, burger, or even eaten on their own!
