Can you guess one of our favorite summer foods? It’s hard, because there are so many, but this one’s right up there at the top. Funnel cake at the fair.
It’s chewy and crunchy and sweet and it just says summer fun. It has fun in it’s name, for Pete’s sake.
Now we are bringing funnel cakes into fall with our pumpkin funnel cake recipe. With real pumpkin puree and brown sugar sweetness, this funnel cake is the perfect way to welcome fall. Pumpkin love is for real.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup milk
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for garnish.
- What You’ll Do:In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a larger bowl, combine the egg and brown sugar. Then add the pumpkin puree and milk. Stir in the dry ingredients until smooth.
Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle. Pour oil into a skillet until it is an inch deep and heat it up.
Using the squeeze bottle, squeeze the batter into the oil in a swirling circle. Let it fry for about 2 minutes, until it is golden. Drain on paper towels. Serve with powdered sugar sprinkled over the top. Pumpkin love.
